Our school participates in the Green Schools Programme - an international environmental education programme and award scheme that promotes and acknowledges long-term, whole-school action for the environment. We have been awarded three green flags to date. Our Green Schools Committee, which is currently preparing for our 4th Green Flag, is organised and supported by Mr P. O'Meara, Mrs G. Hurley and Miss B. Herlihy.
Our school has a long standing tradition of developing Digital Literacy among it's pupils and has been awarded the Digital School Award since 2006. We aim to provide a technologically enhanced learning experience for our pupils, informed by up to date research and training. Tablet Computers have been our most recent addition to each classroom. Pupils own their iPads and use them daily in the classroom and at home. The iPads are fully integrated with the Interactive Whiteboards in each classroom and the school provides a suite of Educational Apps for the Pupil's use. The Principal and the ICT co-ordinator Mrs G. Hurley have recently updated the Acceptable Usage Policy in collaboration with pupils, staff and parents.
